APS heating and cooling rebates, filed without a sales visit

We size the system with a Manual J through TrueQuote, install to code, and handle the contractor side of APS rebate paperwork. We are not the utility. Dollar amounts change. We verify the live program before you buy.

APS Eligibility, Today

The general shape of the program. Specific dollar amounts and SEER2 / HSPF2 thresholds move each program year - confirm current spec on the live APS page before you commit.

Homeowner on an APS residential account

APS rebate programs run on residential APS service addresses. If your bill says SRP, that is a different program with different rules - the right page is SRP HVAC rebates.

Existing home in the APS service footprint

APS covers most of the West Valley, much of Phoenix north and west of the SRP line, Scottsdale, Peoria, Glendale AZ, Surprise, Goodyear, Buckeye, Avondale, and parts of Paradise Valley. Not every East Valley home is APS - confirm on your bill.

Existing home, not new construction

APS cooling and heat pump rebates are written for retrofits. New construction sometimes has a different program with different paperwork - we will tell you which one applies before we file.

Heat pump or qualifying AC replacement

Equipment on the current APS qualified products list at the SEER2 / HSPF2 tier the program requires. Confirm current spec on the live program page rather than trust a number from last year.

Confirm current spec: the SEER2 / HSPF2 tier required for the rebate, the qualifying equipment list, and the dollar amount per tier. We do this for you before we quote.

The Paperwork Side, On Us

Homeowners get tripped up on rebate paperwork because the contractor portion, the AHRI certificate, and the customer form have to line up exactly. We file the contractor side; you file the customer side. Here is what we hand you.

  • AHRI certificate matched to the installed indoor and outdoor model numbers
  • Paid invoice from Comfort Pros with model and serial numbers
  • Permit and final inspection sign-off where the city requires one
  • Before / after photos if the APS program requires them
  • APS account number on the rebate form so the check goes to the right place

Install vs Submission Window

  • 1

We submit the contractor portion within the program's required window after the install date

  • 2

You submit the customer portion with the AHRI cert and invoice within the same window

  • 3

Rebate processing time is set by APS - we have no influence on it once the paperwork is in

  • 4

If APS denies the claim because the home or model is ineligible, you still own the installed system at the quoted price

APS Rebate + Federal 25C

The APS rebate is paid by the utility. The federal 25C heat pump tax credit lives on your tax return. They are filed on different timelines through different channels, and they usually stack.

Where APS Is the Power Company

APS covers most of the West Valley, much of Phoenix north and west of the SRP line, Scottsdale, Peoria, Glendale AZ, Surprise, Goodyear, Buckeye, Avondale, and parts of Paradise Valley. Not every East Valley home is APS - confirm by your bill.

Wrong utility?

If your bill says SRP, the right page is SRP HVAC rebates. LADWP and SCE rebates are on the California side - LADWP heat pump rebates or SCE heat pump rebates.

Disclaimer

Rebate amounts and equipment lists are set by Arizona Public Service (APS). Comfort Pros does not guarantee a rebate. If the utility denies a claim because the home or model is ineligible, you still own the installed system at the quoted price.

APS HVAC Rebate FAQs

Is Comfort Pros APS?

No. We are the installing contractor. APS runs the program, sets the dollar amounts, and decides what equipment is on the qualified list. We handle the contractor side of the paperwork - AHRI certificate, invoice, model/serial - and we verify the live program before you buy.

How much is the APS rebate right now?

It depends on the equipment tier and the program you are filing under. We will tell you the current number when we quote the install. APS revises equipment lists and dollar amounts each program year - do not trust a stale number from last year's brochure.

I am not sure if my home is APS or SRP. What do I do?

Look at the top of your electric bill. SRP and APS serve overlapping parts of Greater Phoenix, and a Phoenix address can be either one depending on the neighborhood. If you are on SRP, the right page is the SRP HVAC rebates page.

Do APS rebates stack with the federal 25C heat pump tax credit?

Usually yes - the federal credit lives on your tax return and the utility rebate is paid by APS. They are filed separately. See the full breakdown on the heat pump rebates and tax credits guide.

What if APS denies the claim?

You still own the installed system at the quoted price. The rebate denial is between you and APS - it does not change what you owe Comfort Pros. We file the contractor portion correctly; the customer-side determination is the utility's call.
