SCE heat pump rebates, filed without a sales visit

We size the system with a Manual J through TrueQuote, install to code, and handle the contractor side of SCE rebate paperwork. We are not the utility. Dollar amounts change. We verify the live program before you buy.

SCE Eligibility, Today

The general shape of the program. Specific dollar amounts and SEER2 / HSPF2 thresholds move each program year - confirm current spec on the live SCE page before you commit.

Homeowner on an SCE residential account

SCE rebate programs are for residential SCE service addresses. If your bill says LADWP, you are inside the City of Los Angeles - that is a different program on the LADWP heat pump rebates page.

Outside the City of LA, across most of the LA basin and Ventura County

SCE covers Glendale, Burbank, Pasadena, La Crescenta, La Cañada Flintridge, the San Gabriel Valley, Santa Monica, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Palmdale, Lancaster, and most other Crescenta / San Gabriel / Ventura homes. Glendale is not LADWP - many Crescenta / SGV / Ventura homes are SCE.

Existing home, not new construction

Most SCE heat pump programs target retrofits. New construction sometimes has a different program with different paperwork - we will tell you which one applies before we file.

Heat pump at the qualifying SEER2 / HSPF2 tier

SCE rebates are typically heat-pump focused. Equipment on the current SCE qualified products list at the SEER2 / HSPF2 tier the program requires. Confirm current spec on the live program page rather than trust a stale number.

Confirm current spec: the SEER2 / HSPF2 tier required for the rebate, the qualifying equipment list, and the dollar amount per tier. We do this for you before we quote.

The Paperwork Side, On Us

Homeowners get tripped up on rebate paperwork because the contractor portion, the AHRI certificate, and the customer form have to line up exactly. We file the contractor side; you file the customer side. Here is what we hand you.

  • AHRI certificate matched to the installed indoor and outdoor model numbers
  • Paid invoice from Comfort Pros with model and serial numbers
  • CA C-20 #1040927 license reference on the contractor paperwork
  • Permit and final inspection sign-off where the city requires one
  • Before / after photos if the SCE program requires them
  • SCE account number on the rebate form

Install vs Submission Window

  • 1

We submit the contractor portion within the program's required window after the install date

  • 2

You submit the customer portion with the AHRI cert and invoice within the same window

  • 3

Rebate processing time is set by SCE - we have no influence on it once the paperwork is in

  • 4

If SCE denies the claim because the home or model is ineligible, you still own the installed system at the quoted price

SCE Rebate + Federal 25C

The SCE rebate is paid by the utility. The federal 25C heat pump tax credit lives on your tax return. They are filed on different timelines through different channels, and they usually stack.

Where SCE Is the Power Company

SCE covers most of Greater Los Angeles outside the City of LA - Glendale, Burbank, Pasadena, the Crescenta Valley, San Gabriel Valley, Santa Monica, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Palmdale, Lancaster, and more. Inside the City of LA, you are most likely on LADWP.

Wrong utility?

If you are inside the City of Los Angeles, your electric account is almost certainly LADWP, not SCE. The right page is LADWP heat pump rebates. Arizona rebates: SRP or APS.

Disclaimer

Rebate amounts and equipment lists are set by Southern California Edison (SCE). Comfort Pros does not guarantee a rebate. If the utility denies a claim because the home or model is ineligible, you still own the installed system at the quoted price.

SCE Heat Pump Rebate FAQs

Is Comfort Pros SCE?

No. We are the installing contractor. SCE runs the program, sets the dollar amounts, and decides what equipment is on the qualified list. We handle the contractor side of the paperwork - AHRI certificate, invoice, model/serial - and we verify the live program before you buy.

How much is the SCE heat pump rebate right now?

It depends on the equipment tier and the program you are filing under. We will tell you the current number when we quote the install. SCE revises equipment lists and dollar amounts each program year - do not trust a stale number.

I am inside the City of Los Angeles. Am I SCE or LADWP?

If you are inside the City of Los Angeles, your electric account is almost certainly LADWP, not SCE. The right page for you is LADWP heat pump rebates. Outside the City of LA - Glendale, Burbank, Pasadena, the Crescenta Valley, San Gabriel Valley, Santa Monica, Simi Valley - you are SCE.

Do SCE rebates stack with the federal 25C heat pump tax credit?

Usually yes - the federal credit lives on your tax return and the utility rebate is paid by SCE. They are filed separately. See the full breakdown on the heat pump rebates and tax credits guide.

What if SCE denies the claim?

You still own the installed system at the quoted price. The rebate denial is between you and SCE - it does not change what you owe Comfort Pros. We file the contractor portion correctly; the customer-side determination is the utility's call.
