LADWP heat pump rebates, filed without a sales visit

We size the system with a Manual J through TrueQuote, install to code, and handle the contractor side of LADWP rebate paperwork. We are not the utility. Dollar amounts change. We verify the live program before you buy.

LADWP Eligibility, Today

The general shape of the program. Specific dollar amounts and SEER2 / HSPF2 thresholds move each program year - confirm current spec on the live LADWP page before you commit.

Homeowner on a LADWP residential account

LADWP rebate programs are for residential accounts inside the City of Los Angeles service territory. Outside the city limits, you are likely on SCE - check the right page.

Inside the City of Los Angeles

LADWP only serves properties within the City of Los Angeles. Glendale, Burbank, Pasadena, the Crescenta Valley, San Gabriel Valley cities, Santa Monica, and Simi Valley are not LADWP - they are SCE territory. Confirm by your bill.

Existing home, not new construction

Most LADWP heat pump programs target retrofits in existing homes. New construction sometimes has its own path with different paperwork - we will tell you which program applies before we file.

Heat pump at the qualifying SEER2 / HSPF2 tier

LADWP rebates are typically heat-pump focused rather than AC-only. Equipment on the current LADWP qualified products list at the SEER2 / HSPF2 tier the program requires. Confirm current spec rather than trust last year's number.

Confirm current spec: the SEER2 / HSPF2 tier required for the rebate, the qualifying equipment list, and the dollar amount per tier. We do this for you before we quote.

The Paperwork Side, On Us

Homeowners get tripped up on rebate paperwork because the contractor portion, the AHRI certificate, and the customer form have to line up exactly. We file the contractor side; you file the customer side. Here is what we hand you.

  • AHRI certificate matched to the installed indoor and outdoor model numbers
  • Paid invoice from Comfort Pros with model and serial numbers
  • CA C-20 #1040927 license reference on the contractor paperwork
  • Permit and final inspection sign-off from LADBS where the city requires one
  • Before / after photos if the LADWP program requires them
  • LADWP account number on the rebate form

Install vs Submission Window

  • 1

We submit the contractor portion within the program's required window after the install date

  • 2

You submit the customer portion with the AHRI cert and invoice within the same window

  • 3

Rebate processing time is set by LADWP - we have no influence on it once the paperwork is in

  • 4

If LADWP denies the claim because the home or model is ineligible, you still own the installed system at the quoted price

LADWP Rebate + Federal 25C

The LADWP rebate is paid by the utility. The federal 25C heat pump tax credit lives on your tax return. They are filed on different timelines through different channels, and they usually stack.

Where LADWP Is the Power Company

LADWP only serves the City of Los Angeles. Glendale, Burbank, Pasadena, the Crescenta Valley, San Gabriel Valley cities, Santa Monica, and Simi Valley are SCE territory. If you are outside the City of LA, the right page is SCE heat pump rebates.

Wrong utility?

If you are outside the City of Los Angeles - Glendale, Burbank, Pasadena, La Crescenta, the San Gabriel Valley, Santa Monica, Simi Valley - you are most likely on SCE. The right page is SCE heat pump rebates. Arizona rebates: SRP or APS.

Disclaimer

Rebate amounts and equipment lists are set by Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP). Comfort Pros does not guarantee a rebate. If the utility denies a claim because the home or model is ineligible, you still own the installed system at the quoted price.

LADWP Heat Pump Rebate FAQs

Is Comfort Pros LADWP?

No. We are the installing contractor. LADWP runs the program, sets the dollar amounts, and decides what equipment is on the qualified list. We handle the contractor side of the paperwork - AHRI certificate, invoice, model/serial - and we verify the live program before you buy.

How much is the LADWP heat pump rebate right now?

It depends on the equipment tier and the program you are filing under. We will tell you the current number when we quote the install. LADWP revises equipment lists and dollar amounts each program year - do not trust a stale number.

I live in Glendale / Burbank / Pasadena. Am I LADWP?

No. LADWP only serves properties within the City of Los Angeles. Glendale, Burbank, Pasadena, La Crescenta, the San Gabriel Valley, Santa Monica, and Simi Valley are served by SCE. If your bill says SCE, the right page is the SCE heat pump rebates page.

Do LADWP rebates stack with the federal 25C heat pump tax credit?

Usually yes - the federal credit lives on your tax return and the utility rebate is paid by LADWP. They are filed separately. See the full breakdown on the heat pump rebates and tax credits guide.

What if LADWP denies the claim?

You still own the installed system at the quoted price. The rebate denial is between you and LADWP - it does not change what you owe Comfort Pros. We file the contractor portion correctly; the customer-side determination is the utility's call.
